Instructions
Preheat oven to temperature listed on your cake mix instructions.
In a mixing bowl, add your cake mix and other ingredients instructed on the cake mix box (mine called for water, vegetable oil, and eggs).
Mix together until well incorporated. Pour an even amount of cake batter into two springform pans.
Bake according to package instructions.
While the cake is baking, prepare your buttercream frosting.
Add the butter to a mixing bowl.
Beat butter until it's light and fluffy.
Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy whipping cream.
Beat for a few minutes until well incorporated.
Squeeze orange food coloring into the buttercream frosting.
Stir together with a spatula until the color orange is consistent throughout the frosting.
Once the cakes are done and cool to the touch, begin assembling the cake.
Lay one cake flat on a cake stand. Spread buttercream frosting on top of the first cake.
Add your second cake on top of the frosted first cake.
Spread the rest of the frosting evenly over the entire cake, including the sides. You should not be able to see any of the red velvet cake.
Add Halloween Peeps all around the sides of the cake.
Spray the black edible spray and the silver edible dust over the top of the cake.
Top the cake with toy spiders.
Serve and enjoy!
