Chicken and andouille sausage with pasta and a creamy alfredo sauce with a Cajun kick make for this incredibly delicious and easy recipe. Did I mention it’s made in the crockpot?
What You Will Need
Chicken, salt, pepper, garlic powder, andouille sausage, heavy whipping cream, chicken broth, butter, Cajun seasoning, minced garlic, penne pasta, red bell pepper, and parmesan cheese are the only ingredients you need for this recipe. You will also need a crockpot to cook this meal in.
Step by Step Instructions
Place chicken breasts in the crockpot and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.

Slice andouille sausage into “coin” shapes and add to crockpot.

Add heavy whipping cream, chicken broth, butter, Cajun seasoning, and minced garlic.

Cook on low 4-6 hours or high 2-3 hours.
Remove chicken and add penne pasta.

Slice your red bell pepper into strips and add to crockpot. Stir.

Cook on high for 30 minutes.
While that’s cooking, shred your chicken with two forks.
Once penne is tender, sprinkle in your parmesan cheese.

Stir. Add shredded chicken.

Stir until well combined.

Serve & enjoy!
Tips & Advice
To make this recipe even easier and quicker the day you make it, slice your andouille sausage and red bell pepper up ahead and time and store in the fridge until you are ready to make this. It can store in the fridge up to a few days.
When I have guests over, I like to make this recipe and my tortellini pasta bake and have an Italian night. Serve with salad and breadsticks.
My personal favorite Cajun seasoning is “Slap Ya Mama”.
I actually prefer to use a “Tuscan Blend” of shaved parmesan and fontina cheese for this recipe!

Crockpot Cajun Chicken & Sausage Alfredo
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast
- Salt to taste
