Frying pineapple

While frying the pineapple, add the leftover maple syrup into a small saucepan and heat on low heat, whisking frequently. It should thicken as it cools.

Once the pineapple is brown and caramelized, remove from the skillet.

Drizzle the pineapple with the leftover maple syrup.

Serve and enjoy!

Tips & Advice

You can use sliced pineapple or chunks, it doesn’t matter! You can also slice it fresh or buy it canned, whichever is your preference.

An air fryer could also be used for this recipe.

I use some local pure maple syrup from a farm in Iowa. I highly recommend buying pure maple syrup, even better if you can support local. Pure maple syrup is much thinner than pancake syrup which is why I cook it on the stovetop to thicken it up. If you use pancake syrup, you don’t need to do this step.

Shelby, I’m drooling all over my keyboard! Adding a teaspoon or two of butter to the frying pan would be tasty! 😋

    1. Definitely! I wanted to add butter, but I was nervous because recently I learned a lesson the hard way not to add too much liquid in the skillet when frying pineapple or else it won’t get that nice golden caramelized layer on the outside. I’ll have to gain my courage back to add in just a little butter next time! Ha!
